Birth Debriefing

As a Midwife, Sasha has various experiences in debriefing with women about their births and has found that often women will naturally want to share their story, finding the process beneficial in understanding and interpreting the experience. Noticing this need in the community, Sasha felt called to offer birth debriefing both online and face to face. As a Theta Healing Practitioner and Intuitive Guide, Sasha utilises these tools to guide you through the reflection process and the emotions that may arise. Sasha will encourage observing the experience from different aspects and will support you with identifying the lessons learned.

Pregnancy, Birth and Postpartum are a transformative journey that can crack you wide open, encompassing vulnerability, growth and strength. Birth debriefing offers you the opportunity to be heard and respected, ask questions and to discuss your options for any future births if desired. Sasha utilises whole body listening without judgement, offering compassion and understanding. If you are interested, Sasha can offer you further practices to continue after the debrief, supporting your healing journey. Remember, only you can heal yourself, and you are worthy of this.

Birth Debrief Experience:

 

A Birth Debrief is a 1.5-2 hour session online or within your home and can flow differently for each woman but for ease of understanding what to expect, please refer to the below guide:

• Introduction & intention setting (what do you want out of this experience).

• Share your birth story, antenatal &/or postpartum experience.

• Ask Sasha questions about your experience.

• Discuss elements of trauma if relevant for you.

• Discuss potential life lessons (what do you do differently now or what have you learned).

• Discuss options for future births if desired.

• Share your ideal healing journey.

• Discuss ways to implement the desired healing journey.

• Option for breath work, guided meditation or other suitable practices to continue at home.

 

Benefits of Birth Debriefing:

A Birth debrief gives you the opportunity to acknowledge, honour and share your experience whether it was positive or negative. Some women may feel that they are needing to debrief their pregnancy or postpartum journey instead, which is equally important and can incorporate safety, support, expectations, co-parenting and other challenges.

 

A Birth debrief offers you the opportunity to have a better understanding of your experience, acknowledgement of the emotions and how you feel about the experience and may assist you in building confidence and finding ways to move forward.

 

Each woman’s experience is unique and important, and it may be more beneficial to set an intention prior. Please be aware that these sessions can crack open emotions that have been dormant, and more than one session may be beneficial for you.

Can you explain my birth notes?

​

Yes, we can go through your birth notes together and decipher the medical terms to assist you with understanding what happened if this is important to you. Please be aware you will need to request these notes from your health care provider which may take some time and may require a fee.

How do I book a Birth Debrief?

 

Please contact Sasha via the contact page and she will let you know her next available dates, please note this service is offered online or if you live within 20km of Narangba then you have the option of an in person session within your home. If you live outside this range and would prefer face to face, additional travel time will require a fee.
